Hero (1983) is a Romantic Bollywood Movie produced, directed and co-written by Subhash Ghai. It was the 2nd Movie of Jackie Shroff after Swami Dada (1982) and he gains popularity through this movie. Similarly, it was the second movie of the lead Actress Meenakshi Sheshadri, after Painter Babu (1983) which was released before Hero. The movie was a great commercial success and remained in the Top 10 Highest Grossing Bollywood Movies of 1983. The movie was remade in Telugu as Vikram (1986); in Kannada as Ranadheera (1988) and in Hindi with the same name in 2015.
Movie Plot: To teach a lesson to Police Commissioner Shrikant Mathur (Shammi Kapoor), Pasha (Amrish Puri), a hard core criminal, sends his first-rate goon Jackie (Jackie Shroff), who kidnaps Radha (Meenakshi Sheshadri), daughter of Police Commissioner. However, both fall in love with each other and Jackie surrenders to the police since Radha insisted upon it. Jackie gets two years imprisonment and after releasing from jail he started working as a mechanic. But Shrikant Mathur is against their collaboration.
