The film Martin Luther King is a critique of the political and caste systems in Tamil Nadu. The film narrates the story of a waterless village, Markapur, Andhra Pradesh.
Markapur is a small village with a population of around 1,000 people. The village is divided into two groups, Northerners and Southerners, based on caste.
However, the present village president follows caste indiscrimination. The situation takes a U-turn when the president gets paralyzed before the local body election.
The two sons of the president (Sampoornesh Babu and V.K. Naresh) decide to become the next president. The mother of the elder son is a Northerner, and the mother of the younger son is a Southerner.
