Mere Mehboob (1963) stars Rajendra Kumar, Sadhana and Ashok Kumar played the lead roles. Whereas, Nimmi, Ameeta, Mumtaz Begaum, Jhohnny Walker and Pran also played pivotal roles in the movie.
Johnny Walker, Ameeta and Nimmi were nominated for Filmfare Awards under the category Best Supporting Actor/Actress. Similarly, Naushad, Shakeel Badayuni and Mohd. Rafi were also nominated for the categories Best Music Director, Best Lyricist and Best Singer, respectively.
Mere Mehboob (1963) Movie Plot: Anwar Hussaiin (Rajendra Nath) lives a poor life. One day he meets a veiled Muslim girl and immediately falls for her. Later it is revealed that the girl is Husna Bano (Sadhana), sister of Nawab Buland Akhtar (Ashok Kumar) who appoints Anwar to teach singing to his sister. Husna also feels the same for Anwar and the Nawab eventually approves their collaboration and their engagement ceremony is also done. Circumstances changes when Anwar is seen in the company of a courtesan Nazma (Nimmi) and heavily indebted Nawab is pressurized to marry Husna with Munna (Pran) otherwise he would auction the moveable and immovable properties of Nawab to recover his money.
