Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra play the lead roles. Akshay Kumar plays the titular role of Jaswant Singh Gill, a Mining Engineer. Parineeti Chopra portrays his wife, Nirdosh Gill, which marks her second pair-up with Akshay Kumar after Kesari (2019).

Movie Plot

Jaswant Singh Gill was an Amritsar-based Chief Mining Engineer. In 1989, While working in Raniganj, West Bengal, he found a life threat for 65 miners. The miners were trapped inside a flooded coal mine.

Jaswant Singh saved the lives of those 65 miners with his Capsule technique. He was awarded the “Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak” by the President of India, Ramaswamy Venkataraman, in November 1991.

After an illustrious career spanning over 33 years, Jaswant Singh Gill retired as the Executive Director (Safety and rescue) from Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Dhanbad in 1998.
