Prathinidhi [meaning: representative] is an Indian Telugu-language Political Thriller released in cinemas on 25 April 2014.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued an "A" rating (the public exhibition is restricted to Adults) to the Telugu-language film Prathinidhi, vide certificate No. DIL-2-120-2013-HYD dated 16 December 2013. The runtime of the film is 139 Minutes and 03 Seconds.
Pratinidhi Ek Leader is the Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu film Prthinidhi. The 2024 Telugu-language film Prathinidhi 2 is the sequel to Prathinidhi (2014).
Nara Rohith (as Sreenu/Mysterious Man) plays the lead role in Prathinidhi. The film also features Kota Srinivasa Rao (as Chief Minister), Posani Murali Krishna (as Police Commissioner), Sree Vishnu (as Srikar), Shubra Aiyappa (as Sunaina, the love interest of Sreenu), Ravi Prakash (as Ravi Prakash, Police Officer), Giribabu (as Minister, father of Srikar), Jaya Prakash Reddy (as Home Minister), and many others.
The tentative budget of Prathinidhi was Rs. 2 Crore. The film did good business and earned approximately Rs. 12.20 Crore at the Worldwide Box Office, which paved the way for its sequel Prathinidhi 2 (2024).
A mysterious young man (Nara Rohith) kidnaps the state Chief Minister (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and hostages him in a private Old Age Home in Hyderabad. Since it is a high-profile case, all media and the public seem interested in the news.
Home Minister (Jaya Prakash Reddy) appoints Police Commissioner, Anjana Prasad (Posani Krishna Murali), to rescue the Chief Minister.
The initial investigation leads the police to Srikar (Sree Vishnu), the son of a Minister (Giribabu). Srikar is the only friend of the mysterious kidnapper. He informs that Sreenu (Nara Rohith) is the kidnapper of the CM. However, Srikar does not know the motive behind it.
Soon commandos take over the charge and identify the room where the kidnapper might have hosted the CM. They enter the Old Age Home but surprisingly do not find anyone inside the room.
Soon the kidnapper starts with his demands that deal with the Indian currency.
In the meantime, the police learn that Sreenu is the grandson of a freedom fighter. However, more surprisingly, Sreenu had died six months before.
Who is the kidnapper? Is he Sreenu or someone else? What is the motive of the kidnapper? Will he succeed in his plan? The film Prathinidhi gives replies to all such queries.
