Shaitani Ilaaka - Hindi Film 1990

Shaitani Ilaaka is an Indian Hindi-language ( Drama , Horror ,and Thriller ) film released in cinemas on 13 April 1990.

Shaitani Ilaaka is another film in the Horror franchise of the Ramsay Brothers (seven brothers). They made around 32 films belonging to Horror Genre.

Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche (1972), Purana Mandir (1984), Saamri (1985), Veerana (1985), Tahkhana (1986), Dak Bangla (1987), Purani Haveli (1989), and Bandh Darwaza (both 1990) are some of the successful films of Ramsay Brothers. The USP of these B-grade movies is their low budget.

Movie Plot

A young kid Anjali (Mini Tabassum), lives a horrifying life. She often witnesses nightmares, losses self-control, and starts yelling like crazy.

Anjali's father (Sunil Dhawan) and mother, Roma (Asha Lata), feel helpless and clueless about his bizarre behavior of Anjali. They invite Dr. Yograj to examine Anjali.

While Dr. Yograj examines Anjali, he discovers some supernatural powers within Anjali. However, Dr. Yograj is surprised that only Anjali is the victim of the mysteriously phenomenal.

Dr. Yograj examines the entire house and finally reaches the room of Shalaka (Neelam Mehra), the governess. He gets shocked to see Shalaka playing with snakes. However, when Anjali's parents enter the room, everything goes normal.

Dr. Yograj advises the parents to meet his spiritual guru Yogi Baba (Surendra Pal), who lives in Tibet. Dr. Yograj writes a letter to Yogi Baba explaining the issue. However, before he can send the letter, Shalaka (Neelam Mehra), the governess, kills him.

After a few years

Grown-up Anjali (Sripradha) is a college student. Her father is no more, and she lives with her mother, Roma (Asha Lata). Shalaka (Neelam Mehra) also lives with them as their governess.

Anjali is still facing the same problem with bizarre behavior. When Deepak (Deepak Parashar), the love interest of Anjali, learns about the situation, he decides to find the root cause of the problem. Deepak invites a Doctor-cum-Tantric from Tibet. The man is none other than the spiritual guru of Dr. Yograj.

Doctor Yogi Baba (Surendra Pal) discovers a mysterious power that has possessed Anjali. He gives a Taveez (a Holy locket) to Anjali, which will save her from supernatural forces.

Yogi Baba further asks Deepak to bring Anjali to the famous Pavankhind mandir beyond a mountainous region in the city, where supernatural power becomes powerless.

Deepak asks his friends (including Satish Shah and Kanwaljit) to accompany him. Finally, four friends with their love interest reach the famous temple.

In the meantime, Shalaka (Neelam Mehra), when she does not find Anjali at home, asks Roma (Asha Lata) about her daughter. While Roma gets suspicious about the questioning, Shalaka kills.

Story of Shalaka

Before killing Roma, Shalaka reveals that she is Lalbai, who earlier used to worship a devil (Shaitan or Aka), an ancient and fearsome demon.

The ancestors of Anjali defeated, reduced the devil to a formless soul, and held, by a magic charm, to remain imprisoned forever within the Shaitani Ilaaka (devil's area).

Return of the demon

Shalaka then started sacrificing a new bride on every Amavasya (new moon day) with whose blood the demon (Shaitan or Aka).

The demon starts growing stronger with each offering and is on the verge of getting freedom from the magical charm with a final offering.

With this last offering, the devil can break the magical charm, restore his evil powers and ravage the world again, and Anjali is the final offering for the Shaitan.

Twist in the story

Shalaka reaches where Anjali, Deepak, and friends stay. She attacks Anju, but the friends manage to save him with the help of Yogi Baba.

Later Yogi Baba converts Shalaka into a bird, puts her into a box, and nailed it with the help of Deepak and Friends. However, a group of wicked people, led by Ranjeet (Ranjeet), who has an evil eye on Anjali, opens the box and releases Shalaka free.

Shalaka now abducts Anjali and takes him to the Shaitani Ilaaka to sacrifice her before the Shaitan. What happens next is the rest of the story of Shaitani Ilaaka.
