Movie Plot

Malhaar Shastry (Shiv Pandit) is an independent and  passionate game designer whose workd roams around the gaming world. He marries to Mallika Shastry (Mimi Chakraborty), his college love. The couple lives in a rented house in Mumbai.

Since both Malhaar and Mallika are working, Malhaar's parents, Manohar Shastry (Paresh Rawal) and his wife (Neena Kulkarni), start looking after the three-month-old kid Yaman (Kabir Pahwa).

Mallika and Malhaar often visit to meet their son. On the other hand, Yaman lives with his grandparents and gets deeply attached to them, and so the grandparents.

A twist in the story

Malhaar leaves his job, aiming to start a business and settle in the USA. The couple wants to take their son, Yaman, with them. However, Manohar Shastry (Paresh Rawal) is not willing to live without his grandson due to his deep emotional connection with him.

When Malhaar and Mallika remain adamant about taking their child with them, Manohar files a court case for restraining Malhaar from taking Yaman to the USA.

What happens next? To whom the court will grant custody of the child - to the father or the grandfather? The film Shastry Viruddh Shastry narrates the rest of the story.
