Suraj (1966) is a Romantic Bollywood Movie released on 25 March, 1966 (India). The movie was produced by T. Govindarajan and S. Krishnamurthy. The movie was directed by T. Prakash Rao. Suraj (1966) became superhit on Box Office by earning Rs. 5 Crores approximately (Worldwide). It also became the Second Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie for the year 1966 after Dharmendra and Meena Kumari starrer Phool Aur Patthar

Music for Suraj (1966) was composed by magical musical duo Shankar-Jaikishan who won Filmfare Best Music Director Award in the 14th Filmfare Awards. Hasrat Jaipuri and Mohammed Rafi won Best Lyricist and Best Playback Singer, respectively, for the song Baharon Phool Barsao. 

Suraj (1966) had some other soulful music tracks also like Dekho Mera Dil Machal Gaya, Kaise Samjhaaon, Itna Hai Tumse pyar and Titli Udi Ud Jo Chali sung by debutante singer Sharda. 

Suraj (1966) Movie Plot: The King Vikram Singh (David) is very happy with the services given by his commander Sangraam Singh (Niranjan Sharma). Since, the King has no son he decides to marry his only daughter Anuradha (Vyjayanthimala) with Pratap Singh (Ajit), son of Sangraam Singh when their respective child will become marriageable. 

Years later Anuradha and her maid servant Kalavati (Mumtaz) start over alone, without any escort, for the coronation of Pratap Singh. But Kalavati is abducted by dacoit Suraj Singh (Rajendra Kumar). But in a twist Kalavati was poses as Anuradha and vice versa. Hence, it was Anuradha who was abducted by the dacoit.
