Vachan is an Indian Hindi-language ( Family Drama ) film released in cinemas on 01 July 1955.
Kamla (Geeta Bali) lives in a small town in Uttar Pradesh with her widowed father, Dinanath (S. K. Prem), and her two younger brothers, Kumar and Kishore. Dinanath dreams of marrying Kamla to her wealthy lover, Prem (Balraj), and ensuring Kumar and Kishore receive a good education.
As Dinanath's eyesight worsens to complete blindness, he loses his job. His employer, Laxmidas (Madan Puri), promises to hire Kumar after completing his studies. Tragically, Kumar dies in an accident on the day of his results.
Kamla's wedding is called off, and Prem marries Shyama (Neeroo). Kamla takes up work to support her blind father and younger brother, Kishore.
Years later, Kishore (Rajendra Kumar) grows up, gets a job, and marries Tara (Neelma), who is related to Prem's friend. Initially, the family lives peacefully, but Kishore and Tara later accuse Kamla of stealing. Hurt by the accusations, Kamla and her father leave the house.
Kamla finds work as a nurse caring for the ill Shyama, unaware she is looking after her ex-lover Prem’s wife.
