Yaadon Ki Zanjeer - Hindi Film 1984

Yaadon Ki Zanjeer is a Hindi (Bollywood) Action film released on 28 May 1984. The shooting of the film started at the end of 1970. It took around 14  years to complete the movie.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued a U rating to the Hindi-language film Yaadon Ki Zanjeer, vide certificate No. 2607, dated May 7, 1984.

Movie Plot

Satyaprakash Choudhary (Siddharth Kak) is a freedom fighter. He hides from the police and lives with his wife, Parvati (Geeta Kak), elder son Ravi, and younger son, Munna (Master Ravi).

Shambhu Nath Saxena (A.K. Hangle), one of the companions and reliable man of Satyaprakash, is in jail. Daulat Ram (Satyendra Kapoor) meets Shambhi Nath and helps him to flee by sending a message to Satyaprakash.

Shambhunath meets Satyapraksh and asks him to accompany him to meet some other freedom fighters. Ravi also accompanies his father while Munna remains at home with his mother.

Shambhu Nath introduces Satyapraksh to Daulat Ram (Satyendra Kapoor) and leaves. Daulat Ram introduces Satyaprakash to Mohandas (Madan Puri) and Amirchand (Anwar Hussain). However, It is a trap for Satyaprakash, and Dharmadas (Kader Khan) kills him with a knife while Ravi watches them.

Ravi informs the police that four persons have killed Satyaprakash, and one of them, is an asthma patient.

After a few years

Munna is now DCP Avinash Choudhary (Shahi Kapoor), an honest and upright police officer, and lives with his mother. He reopens the murder case of his father and assures the Commissioner of Police (Raj Mehra) to bring those four murders before the judiciary. Commissioner informs that one of them is an asthma patient and is in Mumbai. He also suggests finding the eyewitness, the elder brother of Avinash.

Grown-up Ravi (Sunil Dutt) has only one aim in his life, which is to kill the murderers of his father. On the other hand, Mohandas has now become Mathur (Madanpuri), Daulat Ram is Raibahadur (Satendra Kapoor), and Thakur Sher Singh is Dharmdas (Kader Khan).

The fourth partner Amirchand, now Babulal (Anwar Hussain), keeps them blackmailing for the murder of Satyaprakash. Babulal has a file that contains details of all the killers of Satyapraksh and the name of the person who gave money to them for the murder of Satyaprakash.

Parallel Stories

Usha (Reena Roy) is a dancer in a hotel. Mathur (Madan Puri) sends goons to abduct her when she refuses to share the bed with him. Ravi (Sunil Dutt) helps Usha and rescues her. In turn, Usha promises to help Ravi whenever needed.

Dr. Manju Saxena (Shabana Azmi) is a Doctor in the Dharmdas' (Kader Khan) Trust. She is in love with Avinash (Shashi Kapoor), who is after Babulal (Anwar Hussain), an asthma patient. He somehow takes fingerprints of Babulal that match the police record and arrests Babulal.

Ravi, with the help of Usha, helps Babulal to flee. However, his motive is to know the whereabouts of the other three murderers of his father before killing Babulal.

Since Babulal is an asthma patient and dies soon but gives an indication about the file in which details of all other culprits are available. However, Avinash shoots Ravi when the latter tries to escape.

Injured Ravi enters the house of Shambhu Nath Saxena (A.K. Hangal), the reliable friend of his late father, Satyaprakash. Dr. Manju (Shabana Azmi) is the daughter of Shambhu Nath, who treats Ravi without letting the police know about him.

Will Ravi be able to avenge his father's death? What will Avinash do when he learns that Ravi is his elder brother? Film Yaadon Ki Zanjeer gives replies to all such queries.
