Merry Christmas is an Indian Hindi-Tamil language ( Thriller ) film released in cinemas on 12 January 2024.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issued a (UA) rating to the Hindi-Tamil language film Merry Christmas, vide certificate No. DIL/2/571/2023-MUM on 18 December 2023 . The runtime of the film is 144 Minutes and 24 Seconds.
Initially, the film booked its slot for Christmas week of 2022 (December 23). However, the release got postponed to avoid a clash with Rohit Shetty's directorial Cirkus (2022) and rescheduled for December 15, 2023.
The makers planned to advance the release date for one week (December 8, 2023), but the same got postponed to January 12, 2024.
Sriram Raghavan is the director of Merry Christmas. He has also written the screenplay of the film. Sriram Raghavan is best known for his Thriller films like Ek Hasina Thi (2004), Johnny Gaddaar (2007), Agent Vinod (2009), Badlapur (2012), and Andhadhun (2015).
On Christmas Eve, Albert (Vijay Sethupathi) encounters Maria (Katrina Kaif) and her little daughter, Annie (Pari Sharma), in a restaurant. Maria and Albert start chatting and befriending.
Maria discloses that her husband, Jerome (Luke Kenny), has ditched her and is celebrating this Christmas Eve with his girlfriend.
Albert and Maria spend some quality time together by going out after Annie sleeps. However, when they return, they find the dead body of Jerome.
How did the dead body of Jerome reach inside the house? Was it a suicide or murder? If murder, who is the killer, and what is the motive behind the killing? The film Merry Christmas gives replies to all such queries.
