1921 - Hindi Film 2018

1921 is an Indian Hindi-language ( Horror and Supernatural Thriller ) film released in cinemas on 12 January 2018.

It was the fourth film of the 1920 Film Series. The previous films in this series were 1920 (2008), 1920: Evil Returns (2012), and 1920 London (2016). The fifth film in this series is 1920: Horrors of the Heart (2023).

Movie Plot

A business tycoon Mr. Wadia (Vikram Bhatt), sees Ayush (Karan Kundra) playing piano in Bombay (now Mumbai). He is very impressed because Ayush has no musical background.

Mr. Wadia offers Ayush to study free at the York College of Music in the United Kingdom if he agrees to take care of his mansion, Wadia Manor, near the university. Ayush happily agrees, visits the United Kingdom, and is admitted to the college.

Twist in the story

After some time, Ayush starts witnessing paranormal activities in the house. He sees a white light beckoning him to come closer, but a woman's screen always stops him. Ayush encounters a message written with dried blood in a room he does not understand.

Hope of light

Ayush impatiently waits for the morning newspaper daily. One day he sees an article about Rose (Zareen Khan), who has the power to see a ghost or dead people. Ayush meets Rose and seeks her help, to which she agrees.

Rose asks Ayush to tell if he is hiding anything. Initially, Ayush does not inform anything strange to Rose, but when the evil power attacks Rose, Ayush tells a backstory.

Flashback story

Ayush visited the United Kingdom three months back and started living in the mansion. He allowed the villagers to enter the house and played piano for some money.

One day a girl named Meher Wadia (Mr. Wadia's niece) visited the mansion and blackmailed him into giving her a performance, or she would tell the truth to her uncle.

The biggest twist

During the performance at night, Mehar Waida (Angela Krislinzki) surprisingly gave Ayush poison and tried to dump him at a place so that he could die a slow death. However, Ayush somehow manages to save his life by hitting Mehar, making her unconscious.

While returning to the mansion, he saw a ghost on the way and lost control of the car, resulting in a car accident in which Meher died. Ayush fled away by leaving the car and the dead body. He tried to find any news of Meher in the newspaper but did not find any information about her.

Based on the story,  Rose believes that it is the dead soul of Mehar, who wants to kill Ayush, and she decides to help Ayush. Moreover, Rose has a secret desire for Ayush.

Rose and Ayush start searching for the background of Meher and shockingly learn that the girl is not Meher Waida.

Who was the dead girl? Is there any connection between Meher Wadia and the dead girl? How does the girl relate to Ayush? Or there is something else that is beyond imagination. Film 1921 gives replies to all such queries.
