The happy life of Ram gets shattered when Vicky (Mazhar Khan) and his friend Kundan (Mahesh Anand) assault and molest Shakuntala while she is with his son, Anu (Master Ravi).
Anu manages to inform his father, Ram, about the horrifying incident, but sadly, Shakuntala passes away before Ram can save her.
The police are unable to find any leads about the culprits. Frustrated, Ram decides to take matters into his own hands and find the ones responsible for his wife's tragedy.
A piece of evidence points Ram towards Bhavani Junction, a town unofficially ruled by a man named Bhavani Raja (Shashi Kapoor). Bhavani Raja is known for his sense of justice and kindness.
Ram meets Bhavani Raja and shares the heart-wrenching incident. Bavani assures Ram to help him in finding the culprit. However, things take an unexpected turn when Ram discovers that Vicky, one of the culprits, is the son of Bhavani Raja.
Reshma (Zeenat Aman) is a club dancer who keeps a soft corner for Bhavani Raja. She joins forces with Ram to seek justice. Meanwhile, Dewan Chand (Prem Chopra), a loyal follower of Bhavani, is determined to protect Vicky at any cost.
As the story unfolds, a clash between loyalty and justice becomes apparent. Bhavani Raja faces a difficult choice between his love for his son and his sense of righteousness.
