On the night of 4th July, five old friends from Southport go for a long drive to enjoy fireworks. The group includes Ava, Danica, Milo, Teddy, and Stevie. During the drive, their car causes a serious accident on a cliffside road. Out of fear, they decide to keep it a secret with the help of a powerful local leader.
After one year, they meet again in Southport. But this time, someone knows what they did last summer. One by one, strange and scary things start happening. A killer holding a sharp hook starts attacking them. To save themselves, the group begins searching for the truth behind the old fisherman murders from 1997.
What connects the past and present? Who is behind the new killings? The answers unfold as the story moves ahead.
