The five members are Seshadri (Dharmendra), Prakash (Vinay Pathak), Vikram (Neil Nitin Mukesh), Shardul (Zakir Hussain), and Shiva (Dayanand Shetty).
Sheshadri is the seniormost member, and all other members respect him. He lives alone after the death of his wife. He likes and trusts Vikram (Neil Nitin Mukesh) the most.
Prakash (Vinay Pathak) owns the club land, but they all are partners in profit and loss in the club. Prakash lives happily with his wife Varsha (Ashwini Kalsekar), who runs a Beauty Parlour, and a kid son Chikoo (Azaan Shah).
Shardul (Zakir Hussain) wants Prakash to sell the club land to him. However, Prakash is not ready to sell the land. It creates differences and conflicts between them. Mini (Rimi Sen) is the young wife of Shardul.
Vikram (Neil Nitin Mukesh) is the youngest and newest member of the gang. He is in love with Mini (Rimi Sen), the wife of Shardul, and the couple plans to flee together.
Shiva (Dayanand Shetty) is the most muscular member of the gang, with robust physic. Shiva's mother (Rasika Joshi), who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, is in a hospital. Shiva loves Nurse Vaijanti (Vyjayanthi), who looks after his mother in the hospital.
Kalyan (Govind Namdeo), a corrupt cop from Bengaluru and friend of Seshadri offers him drugs worth Rs. 5 crore for Rs. 2.5 Crore only. The deal is the crack within three days.
All five members agree to the deal and get ready to contribute Rs. 50 Lakh each. Shardul can sell the drugs immediately, so they expected a profit of Rs. 50 lakh each in a few days. Since Prakash does not have sufficient funds, he mortgages his wife's parlour and arranges the money.
As per the plan, Shiva will go to Bengaluru with Rs. 2.5 Crore, and bring the drugs worth Rs. 5 Crore from Kalyan (Govind Namdeo). Prakash will drop Shiva at the railway station. However, Seshadri goes to drop Shiva at the Railway Station due to sudden changes in circumstances.
Vikram (Neil Nitin Mukesh) plans to loot Rs. 2.5 Crore from Shiva so that he can settle in Canada with Mini. Vikram leaves for Goa by airplane for a land deal. He uses the name Johnny G to check into a Goa Hotel. Vikram meets advocate Gomes (Rajtilak), Seshadri's friend, to get his work done and to serve as an alibi.
Vikram flies back to Mumbai and checks in the train that Shiva takes to Bengaluru via Pune. As per the plan, Vikram has to make Shiva unconscious with the help of chloroform. However, the strategy goes wrong, and Shiva dies on the train. Vikram throws Shiva out of the train and flees with the money.
Seshadri calls Vikram and asks him to return immediately. Vikram meets Seshadri and officially learns about Shiva's murder and the missing money. However, while talking with Seshadri, Vikram makes a mistake, and Seshadri immediately understands that Vikram is behind the heinous crime.
Vikram confesses that he wanted to rob the money but did not want to kill Shiva. Seshadri, over the phone, asks Shardul and Prakash to come home. In the meantime, Vikram shoots Seshadri and flees from the open window. He returns after a while and sees Prakash and Shardul outside Seshadri's home.
Kalyan (Govind Namdeo) learns about his friend's (Seshadri) killing. He reaches there and promises to catch the killer in two days. On the other hand, Vikram will kill everybody who comes to know about his secret.
What happens next? Will Kalyan find the truth, or he die? What happens to Shardul and Prakash? Will Vikram and Mini flee to Canada? The film Johnny Gaddaar gives replies to all such queries.
