Movie Plot

Ravi (Jeetendra) is a Lawyer who lives in a righteous happy family, including retired father Justice Dinanath (Ashok Kumar), mother Shanta (Seema Deo), and younger brother Sunil (Sunny Deol). Ravi adopts a baby girl Jyoti, a cute and talkative girl who soon wins over the entire family.

Mayor Kishan Chand (Prem Chopra) is a white-callar criminal, and so as his son Teja Kishan (Tej Sapru). Susheela (Kunika) works in the office of Teja Kishan, who wants to molest Susheela. When he fails, Teja throws Susheela out of the window from a high-raised building to die.

Priya (Farah), the love interest of Sunil (Sunny Deol), witnesses the crime, and consequently, Sunil arrests Teja Kishan. Kishan Chand (Prem Chopra) asks Ravi (Jeetnedra) to fight the case for him. However, Ravi refuses to take the case of a hardcore criminal and fights for justice.

Teja Kishan receives life imprisonment, and Mayor Kishan Chand has to leave his powers as Mayor. Kishan Chand becomes angry and vows to take avenge.

Twist in the story

Ravi often meets a prisoner Sharada (Jaya Prada), in jail. Later when she comes out of jail, Ravi brings her home but does not tell the truth about Sharda. Soon Ravi's parents fix his marriage to Sharda.

Kishan Chand makes a plan with a prisoner Janki Das (Shakti Kapoor). As per the plan, Janki Das visits on the day of Ravi's marriage and claims to be the husband of Sharda (Jaya Prada). He also shows some pictures of Sharda, which support his claim. Justice Dinanath can not tolerate the insult and dies immediately due to a heart attack.

The situation takes a U-turn when Janki Das frames Ravi in a murder case, and Sunil (Sunny Deol) arrests his brother Ravi.
