Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1984) is a Bollywood Drama Movie released on 16 August, 1985. The movie was produced by Randhir Singh and Directed & co-written by Raj Kapoor, the first Showman of Indian Cinema. The movie starring Rajiv Kapoor, Son of Raj Kapoor and a debutant actress Mandakini in lead roles. The movie was a Blockbuster and became the Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie in the year 1985. Ram Teri Ganga Maili is also remembered as the last movie of Raj Kapoor who died on 2 June, 1988.
Movie Plot: Ganga a lively girl lives in Gangotri where he meets Narendra Sahay (Rajiv Kapoor) who is from Calcutta (now Kolkata) who has come with a group of students. They soon fall in love with each other and even get married and spend a night together before Narendra leaves for Calcutta promising Ganga to return soon. But Narendra does not return for months and Ganga gives birth to a child. When she is able to, she starts her journey to Calcutta so that his son may get a better future. However, throughout her way she is molested and exploited by many people. Finally she joins a brothel so that she can earn bread for her son.ย
A politician Bhagwat Choudhary (Raza Murad) whose daughter Radha (Divya Rana) is going to be married with Jeeva Sahayโs Son pays a hefty amount with the intention to keep Ganga a mistress for himself and for Jeeva.ย What Ganda does not know is that Radha is going to be married with Narendra.
