Woodstock Villa - Hindi Film 2008

Woodstock Villa is a Hindi (Bollywood) Mystery Thriller film released on 20 May 2008. The film takes inspiration from the Japanese thriller Chaos, released in 2000.

Sikandar Kher and Neha Oberoi made their Bollywood acting debut with Woodstock Villa and played lead roles in the film. Sikandar Kher is the son of Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher, well-established actors in Bollywood. However, he preferred not to use the surname in the Film Credits. On the other hand, the Producer Sanjay Gupta was the Uncle of the other debutante Neha Oberoi.

Cast

Debutante Sikandar Kher and Neha Oberoi are there in the lead roles in Woodstock Villa. Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover have played pivotal roles in Woodstock Villa. Sachin Khedekar, Gaurav Gera, and Dayashankar Pandey have played supporting roles.

Sanjay Dutt has played cameo in Woodstock Villa.

Movie Plot

Sameer (Sikandar Kher) is a happy-go-lucky young man. He wants to achieve something big and hence refuses ordinary jobs. Sameer takes a huge amount of money from Kareem Bhai (Gulshan Grover), a local goon. Kareem Bhai often threats him with dire consequences for not paying his money back.

Sameer has also not paid his house rent for the last few months. His landlord, Mr. Chawla (Shakti Kapoor), is a good man and somehow allows him to stay in the house with the warning to pay the pending rent at the earliest.

In a parallel story, Zara Kampani (Neha Oberoi) is married to Jatin (Arbaaz Khan), a businessman. Their marriage life seems alright until Zara meets Sameer (Sikandar Kher) in a pub.

Zara ultimately lands up in the house of Sikandar. However, before Sikadar could make up his mind about anything, she clarifies the reason for her coming.

Zara wants to test Jatin's (husband) love. She asks Sameer to be her fake kidnapper and demands a ransom of Rs. 50 Lakh INR from Jatin. Zara offers money for this job, and Sameer agrees to her proposal of Zara due to the dire need for the money. The fake kidnapping is planned for the same day.

Zara takes Sameer to a Villa named Woodstock Villa belongs to one of her friends, now living abroad. Sameer calls Jatin and asks him for Rs. 50 Lakh for the kidnapping of Zara.

Sameer follows every step of Jatin and finds that Jatin has already informed the Police. After keenly observing Jatin and his movements, Sameer realizes that Jatin has no interest in his wife. He then returns to Woodstock Villa. However, to his shock, Zara is murdered.

Before Sameer could realize anything, the landline phone rings, and Sameer unintentionally picks up the phone. A male voice from the other side asks Sameer to dispose of the body within half an hour or face the consequences.

Sameer has left with no other option but to dispose of the body, or he will be held responsible for the murder of Zara. He buries the dead body and decides to leave for Bangalore for the job he earlier refused. However, at the airport, Sameer sees a look-alike of Zara on a Music video played on the display.

Sameer cancels his plan to go to Bangalore and decides to find the truth about the look-alike of Zara. The rest of the film is about the investigation of Sameer to find the truth about Zara Kampani.

Budget and Box Office Collection

The tentative budget of Woodstock Villa was Rs. 6.5 Core. The film did not perform well at the Box Office. Woodstock Villa collected approximately Rs 3.12 Core at the Worldwide Box Office. However, the film received positive reviews from critics.
