Neel Kamal (1968) is a Indian Bollywood Romantic Suspense Movie released on 21 September, 1968 (India). The movie was produced by Pannalal Maheshwari and directed by Ram Maheshwari who was nominated for Filmfare Best Director for the movie. Neel Kamal (1968) becomes superhit on Box Office by earning Rs. 3.5 Crores and also became the Third Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie for the year 1968 after Ankhen and Do Kaliyaan followed by Kanyadaan, Shikar and Padosan.
Neel Kamal stars Manoj Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Raaj Kumar and Balraj Sahni in lead roles. Shashikala, Lalita Pawar, Davie, Jagdish Raj, Mumtaz Begum, Rajan Kapoor, Nazir Kashmiri, Mehmood, and Ruby Mayer played supporting roles in the movie. Waheeda Rehman won Filmfare Best Actress Award whereas Raaj Kumar, Shashikala, Mehmood were nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress and Best Performance in a Comic Role, respectively.
Music Director Ravi composed music for Do Kaliyaan and lyrics were authored by Sahir Ludhiyanvi and they created some mesmerizing songs like Rome Rome Me Basne Wala and Ye Zindgi Jo Thi Ab Tak sung by Asha Bhosle, Tujhko Pukare Mera Pyar and Babul Ki Duayen Leti Ja sung by Mohammed Rafi who was nominated for Filmfare Best Male Singer for the song Babul Ki Duayen Leti Ja.
Neel Kamal (1968) Movie Plot: Seeta (Waheeda Rehman) often hears a song Aa Ja Tujh Ko Pukare Mera Pyar, while sleeping and thereafter she starts sleepwalking to an unknown destination. One day while sleepwalking she is about to hit by a movie train, she was saved by a young man Ram (Manoj Kumar) and they eventually get married.
Soon Seeta comes to know that the song is from the soul of Chitrasen (Raaj Kumar) who loves Seeta in her past life when she was a princess named Neel Kamal but her father buried Chitrasen alive. Since then the wandering soul of Chitrasen is calling Seeta to his place. And one day Seeta finally reaches to the place of Chitrasen during sleepwalking.
