
Dharmendra [(real or Born Name Dharam Singh Deol) (Date of Birth 08.12.1935)] is an Indian Bollywood Actor, Producer and Politician. He was born on December 08, 1935 at Nasrali, District Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He is Son of Mr. Kewal Kishan Singh Deol and Ms. Satwant Kaur. He is Popularly known by his screen name Dharmendra and Nick names He Man and Garam Dharam.
His marriage was took place in 1954 with Prakash Kaur when he was merely 19 years old. However, later on he marries to famous Bollywood Actress Hema Malini in the year 1980 after becoming a very popular and successful online couple.
From the first marriage Dharmendra has two Sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol who are also very popular Bollywood Actors and two daughters namely Vijeeta and Ajeeta. From the second marriage Dharmendra has two daughters Ahana Deol and Esha Deol who is too a famous Bollywood Actress.

Filmy Career
He started his filmy career in the year (1960) with Romantic movie Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere with Co-Star Kumkum and Usha Kiran. The movie was directed by Arjun Hingorani who Produced/Directed total 9 Hindi Films in his career and Dharmendra was a part of each and every movie.
In his initial career Dharmendra paired up with successful Bollywood Actress Meena Kumari and did 7 Movies with her namely Main Bhi Ladki Hoon (1964), Kaajal (1965), Purnima (1965), Phool Aur Patthar (1966), Majhli Didi (1967), Chandan Ka Palna (1967) and Baharon Ki Manzil (1968). Phool Aur Patthar (1966) was his first Action Film which became the highest grossing movie for the year 1966 and Dharmendra was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actor Award for the first time. Thereafter Dharmendra did many superhit Action Movies and grab the title of He-Man and Garam Dharam.
Though Dharmendra was considered an action Hero yet he acted in a number of successful romantic movies like Aaye Milan Ki Bela (1964), Mere Humdum Mere Dost (1968), Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969), Jeevan Mrityu (1970) and Loafer (1973). His pair with Hema Malini became the heart throb of the nation during 1970 to 1980 and this onscreen couple did many movies together like Jugnu (1973) Sholey (1975), Charas (1976) and Maa (1976). Later they got married in the year 1980.
He was critically acclaimed for his Movies like Anupama (1966), Satyakam (969), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971) and Sholey (195). He received souvenir in appreciation of his stunning performance in the Movie Satyakam in the 14th National Film Awards. He also received FilmFare Best Actor nomination for Mera Gaon Mera Desh.
Dharmendra did double role in movies like Yakeen (1969), Samadhi (1972), Ghazab (1982) and Jhutha Sach (1984). He also did a triple role Movie named Jeeo Shaan Se (1997). He received Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1997.
Afting acting in more than 200 Hindi Films, the He Man started a Production House to launch his elder Son Sunny Deol in Betaab (1983). He also launched Bobby Deol, his younger Son, and Abhay Deol, his Nephew, in the movies Barsaat (1995) and Socha Na Tha (2005), respectively.

Political Career
Dharmendra joins Bhartiya Janta Party and was Elected as Member of Parliament from Bikaner, Rajasthan, for two consecutive sessions in the year 2004 and in the year 2009.
