
About 10th Filmfare Awards 1963
Filmfare Awards are one of the prestigious Awards given to Hindi Cinema Artists to honor their talent. Filmfare Magazine/Times group annually gives these awards to promote the talented artists in various categories including Technical.
Filmfare Awards initiated in the in the year 1954. The First Filmfare Awards held on 21 March 1954 in Metro Cinema (established 1938), Bombay (now Mumbai).
The First Filmfare Awards announced on 21 March 1954 where only five awards given in five categories. Since then these awards have been given on almost every year. However, only five Awards were given in the 1st Filmfare Awards under five categories i.e. Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Music. 10th Filmfare Awards held on 13 June 1963 in Bombay (now Mumbai).

10th Filmfare Awards 1963-Highlights

Meena Kumari received all three nominations in the Best Actress Category for the movies Main Chup Rahungi, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam and Aarti. This was the first and only occasion when an Actor/Actress received all nominations in a single category. This is a record which is yet to be broken.
