
About 11th Filmfare Awards 1964
The glamorous 11th Filmfare Awards were held in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1964. Filfmare Awards are given to acknowledge and honor the best talent in Hindi Cinema in various categories. 11th Filmfare Awards held in Mumbai for the 11th consecutive year since 1954.
The First Filmfare Awards announced on 21 March 1954 where only five awards given in five categories. Since then these awards have been given on almost every year. However, only five Awards were given in the 1st Filmfare Awards under five categories i.e. Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Music. 10th Filmfare Awards held on 13 June 1963 in Bombay (now Mumbai).

11th Filmfare Awards 1964-Highlights

Gumrah and Dil Ek Mandir received most number of nominations (8) each. However, Gumrah won 3 and Dil Ek Mandir won 2 out of 8.

Bandini received six nominations and won all six including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Story, Best Sound Design and Best Cinematography (B&W).

Taj Mahal nominated under three category and won two out of them.
